Terms & Conditions

Xpert Window Tinting Ltd maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward any form of
inappropriate behaviour directed at staff, contractors, or representatives of the company.
This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal abuse
  • Aggressive behaviour
  • Threats or intimidation
  • Harassment of any kind
  • If any such behaviour occurs, Xpert Window Tinting Ltd reserves the immediate right to:
  • Refuse or terminate services without notice
  • Remove staff from site
  • Cancel any ongoing or future bookings
  • Retain any deposits paid
  • Any such incident may also result in further action, including refusal of future service and/or
  • legal action where applicable.

Clients must remove all personal belongings from their vehicles prior to the scheduled
service time. This includes, but is not limited to, loose items, valuables, electronic devices,
paperwork, and any accessories within the vehicle. Xpert Window Tinting Ltd accepts no responsibility for any loss of, or damage to, personal
belongings left inside the vehicle before, during, or after the service.
All vehicles must be presented in a clean and suitable condition for installation. This
includes:

  • Windows free from dirt, dust, grease, and contaminants
  • No excessive pet hair, debris, or residue
  • Removal of stickers, decals, or previous adhesives where possible
  • If a vehicle is not presented in a condition suitable for installation, Xpert Window Tinting Ltd
  • reserves the right to:
  • Apply additional cleaning charges
  • Delay or reschedule the job
  • Refuse service until the vehicle meets required standards
  • A cleaning surcharge of up to 20% may be applied where excessive contamination is present.
  • Removal of existing or old window film is not included unless specifically stated.
  • Film removal is charged separately and starts from: $20 per window, depending on condition and complexity.

Removal involves scraping, chemicals, and heat.

Risks include:

  • Damage to rear demister lines
  • Damage to aerial systems
  • Scratching of glass
  • Adhesive staining
  • Exposure of glass defects
  • These risks are unavoidable.

Xpert Window Tinting Ltd accepts no liability for:

  • Demister damage
  • Electrical issues
  • Glass damage
  • Any resulting issues from removal

A minimum call-out fee applies and varies by location.
Additional costs may apply for:

  • Travel
  • Waiting time
  • Access restrictions

All vehicles left at:
4/8 Kellow Place, Wiri, Auckland
Are left entirely at the owner’s risk.
This includes:

  • Drop-off periods
  • Installation time
  • Overnight storage
  • Collection delays
  • Xpert Window Tinting Ltd accepts no responsibility or liability for:
  • Theft or attempted theft
  • Damage caused by other vehicles
  • Environmental damage (weather, debris, etc.)
  • Vandalism or third-party interference
  • Mechanical or electrical faults

The Customer acknowledges that vehicles may be moved within the premises as part of normal operations and accepts all associated risks.

Window film installation is a technical process that requires time to properly bond to the
glass surface.
Curing Period
The curing period is typically: Up to 48 hours for automotive use

During this time:

  • Windows must NOT be wound down
  • Film is still bonding to the glass

During Curing You May See
Water bubbles
Haze or cloudiness
Distortion

These are normal and temporary.

Customer Responsibility
If windows are operated during curing:
Damage may occur
Film may lift or crease
Xpert Window Tinting Ltd is not liable for damage caused by:
Customer interference
Failure to follow aftercare instructions

All quotations are based on:

  • Information provided by the Customer
  • Site conditions described at time of quoting
  • Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

Customer Measurement Responsibility
Where measurements are supplied by the Customer:
All measurements are accepted at the Customer’s risk
Xpert Window Tinting Ltd does not verify measurements unless engaged to do so

Pre-Cut Film Policy (IMPORTANT)
All film is:
Cut prior to installation at our workshop
This means:
Incorrect measurements may result in unusable material
Additional charges will apply for re-cutting or re-ordering

Variation in Scope
If job conditions differ from what was quoted, including:
Additional windows
Access issues

Height work
Film removal required
Xpert Window Tinting Ltd reserves the right to:
Adjust pricing
Pause work
Re-quote where necessary

Customers must ensure:

  • Windows are clean prior to installation
  • Clear access is provided to all work areas
  • Furniture is moved a minimum of 1 metre away

Failure to Prepare Site
If site is not ready:

  • Installation may be delayed
  • Additional labour charges may apply
  • A $150+GST call-out fee may be charged

Access & Safety
The Customer must ensure:

  • Safe working conditions
  • Adequate access to all windows
  • Xpert Window Tinting Ltd reserves the right to refuse unsafe work environments.
  • All installations are carried out to industry standards.
  • Due to the nature of window film application, minor imperfections are unavoidable.

Acceptable Imperfections Include:

  • Dust particles
  • Dirt or debris
  • Water pockets during curing
  • Minor visual distortion

Tolerance Level
Imperfections must not exceed:

  • 2%–5% of the visible window area

Inspection Requirements
Inspection must be done:

  • From 1 metre away
  • Looking through the glass
  • In natural lighting
  • Close-up inspection is NOT a valid method.

Claims Process

  • Must be reported within 7 days
  • Must include photos and description
  • Final assessment is at the discretion of Xpert Window Tinting Ltd.

To achieve optimal results:

  • Rubber seals may be removed or trimmed
  • A uniform edge gap of 1–5mm will be present

Why This Is Required

  • Prevents peeling
  • Allows proper adhesion
  • Ensures long-term durability

Window film curing is affected by:

  • Temperature
  • Sun exposure
  • Airflow

Standard Curing Time

  • 7–30 days

Extended Curing Time
Up to 3–6 months in:

  • Winter
  • Shaded windows
  • Low sunlight areas

Normal During Curing

  • Haze
  • Water bubbles
  • Streaks
  • Cloudiness

These are NOT defects.

Important Note
If inspection is requested during curing:
A $150+GST call-out fee may apply
If film is curing normally, no warranty applies

After installation:

  • Do NOT clean for 30 days
  • Approved Cleaning
  • Ammonia-free products
  • Soft microfiber cloth
  • Avoid
  • Abrasive materials
  • Chemicals
  • Stickers / suction cups

Failure to follow care instructions may void warranty.

Xpert Window Tinting Ltd provides warranties on selected products and services. All
warranties are subject to strict terms, conditions, and limitations outlined below.

Residential & Commercial Window Film Warranty

Internal films: Limited Lifetime Warranty
External films: 2-Year Limited Warranty (due to environmental exposure)
This warranty covers:

  • Bubbling
  • Peeling
  • Cracking
  • Delamination under normal use

Automotive Window Film Warranty
Automotive film warranties vary depending on the film selected and may range from:

  • 1 Year to Limited Lifetime Warranty
  • Warranty details will be:
  • Confirmed at time of installation

Workmanship Warranty
All installations include a 12-month workmanship warranty, covering:

  • Lifting or peeling edges
  • Installation defects
  • Adhesion failures

Warranty Conditions (STRICT)
All warranties are valid only if:

  • Proof of purchase is provided
  • Installation has not been tampered with
  • Film has been maintained according to care instructions
  • Inspection is carried out at the original installation location

Warranty Exclusions
Warranty does NOT cover:

  • Improper cleaning or maintenance
  • Use of harsh chemicals or abrasive materials
  • Physical damage (scratches, impact, vandalism)
  • Installation on unsuitable surfaces (e.g. textured or wire glass)
  • Pre-existing glass defects
  • Thermal stress cracks caused by glass condition
  • Damage caused during film removal
  • Dissatisfaction with film shade, colour, or appearance

Warranty Inspections

Inspection must be arranged through Xpert Window Tinting Ltd
If film is found to be performing within acceptable standards:

  • A $150+GST call-out fee may apply

Pricing Structure
All pricing is based on:

  • Scope of work
  • Site conditions
  • Access requirements
  • Materials selected
  • Prices are subject to change without notice until confirmed in writing.

Payment Terms

  • Payment is due upon completion of work, unless otherwise agreed

Late Payments

  • If payment is not received:
  • Interest will be charged at 2.5% per month
  • All recovery costs, including legal and debt collection fees, will be payable by the Customer

No Withholding of Payment

  • Customers may not withhold payment due to:
  • Minor imperfections within tolerance
  • Warranty claims
  • Disputes not yet resolved
  • Film removal
  • Extra cleaning
  • Difficult access
  • Height work
  • Travel and waiting time
  • Incorrect measurements
  • Undisclosed conditions

Variation Clause
If conditions differ from original quote:
Xpert Window Tinting Ltd reserves the right to:

  • Adjust pricing
  • Pause work
  • Re-quote

Customers are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with New Zealand laws.

Key Tinting Laws (Summary)

  • Front side windows: Minimum 35% VLT
  • Windscreen: Only 100mm visor strip allowed
  • Rear windows: Depends on vehicle classification

Additional Rules

  • No mirrored or reflective tint causing glare
  • No obstruction to driver’s vision
  • Stickers must meet legal positioning limits

Important

Xpert Window Tinting Ltd is NOT liable for:

  • Failed WoF inspections
  • Fines or penalties
  • Non-compliant tint selections requested by the customer

Design & Approval
All artwork must be approved in writing before production
Once approved, the Customer accepts full responsibility for:

  • Spelling
  • Layout
  • Colours
  • Design

Deposits & Payments

  • Minimum 50% deposit required
  • Balance due before or upon installation
  • Deposits are non-refundable once:
  • Materials are ordered
  • Production has started

Production & Lead Times

Standard production:

  • 5–10 working days
  • Delays may occur due to:
  • Material supply
  • Weather
  • Site access

Installation Risks

Xpert Window Tinting Ltd is not liable for:

  • Damage to surfaces during installation
  • Paint issues or peeling
  • Damage during removal of existing signage

Vehicle Signage

  • Vehicles must be clean prior to installation
  • Do not wash for 5–7 days after install

Warranty (Signage)
12-month workmanship warranty
Does not cover:

  • Vandalism
  • Improper care
  • Environmental wear
