How dark can I tint my windows?
In New Zealand, the darkest legal tint depends on the type of vehicle you have. Front windows (driver and passenger door) must be 35% for all vehicles. Rear windows for hatchbacks, sedans and wagons must also be 35%. Rear windows for UTEs, vans, SUVs and other large vehicles can be legally tinted to any level. Please contact our friendly staff if you are unsure what is right for your vehicle.
Can I tint the front windscreen?
You can legally tint the top 100mm of your windscreen. This can be any darkness you want.
Can I see out of my tinted windows at night?
Yes, you will be able to see out of your windows at night. The effect is similar to wearing sunglasses.
Can you see into a car with tints on it?
It depends on the darkness of window film you choose. A 5% film will give you maximum privacy and is ideal for concealing tools and valuables. A 20% film will allow you to see in slightly, but without detail. And 35% film

Can I get colour tints?
At this time, we do not offer any colour vehicle tints.
Can I supply my own window tinting film?
No. We will not install a supplied product.
Can I roll my window down after tinting?
You must keep your windows rolled up for 48 hours after tinting. This is to ensure the film has adhered to the glass correctly and will not peel once rolled down.
Why are the bubbles in the film after window tinting?
Small, hazy white spots begin to form as a part of the drying process. Window film is applied to windows with a water-based solution with needs to dry. These spots can look like air bubbles and may form an orange-peel like effect on the window. Not to worry, this will dry out. The drying time can range from a week to a few months depending on weather and storage conditions
What if my car has factory tinted windows?
Factory tinted windows can be tinted over as any other window. The final result will be a combination of the factory tints and overlay tints which should be considered for your Warrant of Fitness.
How long do window tints last?
We offer different products with a 2-year, 10-year or lifetime warranty.
What is covered in the warranty?
Warranties cover bubbling, peeling, cracking, fading and turning purple. If any of these occur in the lifetime of your warranty, simply book in with your original invoice for a free replacement.
Can tints be removed from vehicle windows?
Yes. Contact us for removal costs.
What if I fail my WOF for tints?
If you fail your warrant of fitness for tints, you can pop down to our shop to have a quick recheck with our celebrated equipment. Some inspector equipment is not properly maintained and can give incorrect readings.
If we find the Visual Light Transmittance (VLT%) is lower than the legal limit, we can remove the film and install legal replacement tints.
Do I have to clean the windows?
Windows will be cleaned by installers on appointment. However, please remove any excessive grime (sawdust, lawn clippings etc.) as this will negatively impact the final product. We reserve the right to turnaway vehicles where we cannot ensure a quality result.
How can I tell if my vehicle has old film?
The easiest way is to feel at the edge of a window for the edge of the window tint film. Alternatively, pop by the shop for our staff to have a look.

How much does it cost to have your house tinted?
We charge a per-square-meter rate for residential and commercial tinting. To get a free quote, you can organize a time for us to come out and measure up. OR you can submit your window sizes to our Contact Us page for a rough estimate.
What kind of tint colours are available?
We offer a wide range of products to suit any space. We provide free samples with all quotes. Check out our gallery page.
What kind of window film has UV protection?
All our window films provide 99% UV protection.
How long does it take to install window film?
Most jobs can be completed in 1-2 installation days.
How do you maintain window film?
For everyday cleaning, simply wipe with a damp microfiber cloth. More difficult grime can be removed with warm soapy water or methylated spirits.
Do tinted windows provide privacy?
Yes, some window films will provide day-time privacy. There is no window film that will allow you to see out of your windows, while also providing night-time privacy. We recommend frosting to provide 24/7 privacy.
What is window frosting?
Frosting is a white, opaque film that will provide privacy under any light conditions (day and night). This is best used for windows in entryways, bathrooms and garages. Check our gallery page for photos.
