Vehicle
In New Zealand, the darkest legal tint depends on the type of vehicle you have. Front windows (driver and passenger door) must be 35% for all vehicles. Rear windows for hatchbacks, sedans and wagons must also be 35%. Rear windows for UTEs, vans, SUVs and other large vehicles can be legally tinted to any level. Please contact our friendly staff if you are unsure what is right for your vehicle
You can legally tint the top 100mm of your vehicle’s windscreen, and this strip can be any level of darkness. This is commonly known as a sun visor strip and is ideal for reducing glare while driving.
Yes – you’ll still be able to see out of your tinted windows at night.
The effect is similar to wearing sunglasses: it slightly darkens your view, but visibility is maintained under normal driving conditions.
Keep in mind that:
The darker the tint, the more noticeable the effect at night.
Legal tint limits are designed to balance privacy, UV protection, and night-time visibility.
If you drive frequently at night, we can recommend tint shades that offer the right balance of performance and safety.
It depends on the level of privacy and style you’re after. Here’s a quick guide to help you choose the right film:
5% Tint (Limo Tint) – Offers maximum privacy. You can’t see inside from the outside, making it ideal for concealing tools, equipment, and valuables in work vehicles or vans.
15% – 20% Tint – Provides a dark, sleek look with moderate privacy. You can see in slightly, but not in detail—great for balancing privacy and visibility. Matching the factory tinted glass.
35% Tint – Allows more light through while still offering a clean, subtle tint. It reduces glare and UV exposure without making the cabin feel too dark.

At this time, we do not offer coloured window tints as a standard option. However, feel free to ask us, and we can check availability with our trusted suppliers.
Important to know:
Films with colours other than the usual grey, dark green, or black often come from cheaper manufacturers. These coloured films may fade over time, turning purple or losing their colour completely. Because of this, coloured films typically come with a limited 1-year warranty, compared to our premium films with longer coverage.
For the best quality, durability, and long-lasting colour, we recommend sticking with our premium neutral shades.
No, we do not install window tint films supplied by customers.
To ensure the highest quality and durability, we only use premium-grade films sourced from our trusted suppliers. This allows us to provide a comprehensive warranty and guarantee the best results for your vehicle or property.
For the best results, keep your windows rolled up for at least 48 hours after tinting. This allows the film to properly adhere to the glass, preventing peeling or bubbling when the windows are rolled down.
Following this simple step helps ensure your tint lasts longer and looks flawless.
After window tinting, you may notice small, hazy white spots or an orange-peel-like texture forming on the glass. This is a normal part of the drying process.
What causes this?
Window film is installed using a water-based solution that needs time to fully dry and bond to the glass. These spots may look like air bubbles but are actually moisture trapped under the film.
How long does it take to clear?
Drying time can vary depending on weather and storage conditions — typically from one week up to a few months. Over time, the spots will disappear as the film cures completely.
Yes, factory-tinted windows can be tinted over just like any other glass. When applying an additional window film, the final tint will be a combination of the original factory tint and the new overlay film.
Important:
This combined tint level should be taken into account when considering legal requirements and your vehicle’s Warrant of Fitness (WoF) to ensure it meets New Zealand regulations.

Our installers will clean your windows as part of the installation process. However, please ensure your vehicle is free from excessive grime — such as sawdust, lawn clippings, pet hair, or heavy dirt — before your appointment.
This helps us deliver the best possible result, as debris can interfere with the film’s adhesion and overall finish.
🚫 Please note:
We reserve the right to reschedule or decline service if your vehicle is too dirty for us to guarantee a quality installation.
Thank you for helping us maintain the high standards we’re known for!

For everyday cleaning, simply wipe your tinted windows with a damp microfiber cloth to avoid scratching the film.
For tougher grime or stubborn spots, use a solution of warm soapy water or methylated spirits applied gently with a soft cloth.
Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads to keep your tint looking flawless for years to come.
Yes, some window films offer daytime privacy by reflecting light and making it difficult for people outside to see in during daylight hours.
However, no window film can provide privacy both day and night while still allowing you to see clearly outside at all times. At night, when lights are on inside, privacy films lose their reflective effect.
For 24/7 privacy, we recommend frosted window film, which obscures vision from both sides regardless of lighting conditions.
Frosting is a white, opaque window film that provides complete privacy day and night, no matter the lighting conditions.
It’s ideal for areas where privacy is essential, such as:
-Entryway windows
-Bathrooms
-Garages
